During the meeting, communication shifts from planning to reading. Much of it becomes non-verbal — pacing, physical distance, attention, hesitation. Verbal exchange remains important, particularly when something changes, but it competes with the natural momentum of an encounter already in progress. Community experience suggests that the willingness to say something out loud mid-encounter is one of the clearest markers of a healthy dynamic, and one of the hardest things to do.
