There are social dynamics to be aware of. Established groups can develop internal pairings and shared history that are invisible to a newcomer and unintentionally exclusionary. Faster walkers cluster at the front, slower walkers at the back, and the gap between them can harden into a social division rather than a physical one. Groups that consciously rotate, regroup at intervals, and check that nobody is walking alone tend to hold together better over time.
