Translations:Beaches/5/en
| Understanding=A beach used as a social venue tends to have several overlapping layers. Some visitors are there purely for swimming and sun. Others are there because the location has a known reputation within local queer networks. Frequently these groups occupy the same sand at the same time, separated by nothing more than distance and habit. Understanding that layering is central to understanding why beaches generate both a strong sense of community and a recurring source of conflict.
