Where a visit involved something that felt uncomfortable or unclear, follow-up can be a place to raise it calmly. It can also, reasonably, be a place to end contact entirely. Both responses are legitimate, and neither requires justification.

| Reality=Reality Check: much of the emotional difficulty around follow-up comes from interpreting silence. A message that goes unanswered can be read as rejection, when the explanation is often unremarkable — a busy period, a missed notification, uncertainty about what to write. Building a narrative from limited evidence is common and rarely accurate.
