Consent operates throughout the invitation process. Accepting an invitation to a gathering is agreement to attend that gathering as described — nothing beyond it. Where the framing of an event shifts after acceptance, that shift can carry risks if it is not communicated and re-agreed. People are entitled to revise a yes into a no at any point, including after arriving.
