A recurring misunderstanding treats accessibility as a fixed property of a building. In practice it is relational — a match, or mismatch, between a specific person and a specific situation on a specific day. The same flat may be workable for someone on a good day and impossible on another. This is why fixed labels such as "accessible" or "not accessible" tend to be less useful than plain description: the number of steps, whether there is a lift, how far the walk is, whether seating is available, how loud it is likely to be.
