Public venues — cafés, parks, bars, cultural spaces — are often described as neutral ground. Neutrality is their main advantage: neither person holds authority over the space, and both are subject to the same social norms. This can reduce pressure and simplify a graceful ending. Their limitation is that they offer little privacy, and background noise or crowding may make sustained conversation difficult.
