Autonomy is mutual. Both people are entitled to decline a proposed venue, to suggest an alternative, or to change their preference as a meeting approaches. Persistent pressure to change venue — particularly toward a more isolated or less accessible one — is widely regarded as a signal worth taking seriously, independent of how the pressure is framed.
