| Safety=Community centres are often described as safer than commercial venues, and in several respects that description holds. Trained staff or facilitators may be present, conduct policies exist, alcohol is frequently limited or absent, and there is usually someone identifiable to approach if a situation becomes uncomfortable. Many centres also maintain relationships with local health and legal services.
