A common misunderstanding is that noise rules apply only to music or parties. In practice, complaints frequently concern ordinary sounds carried by thin walls and old construction: conversation on a balcony, footsteps, doors, plumbing, or voices in a courtyard that amplifies sound upward. Volume matters less than context, time and repetition.
