A common misunderstanding is that quiet hours require silence. In most interpretations they require that noise stay within the dwelling, at a level not audible or not disruptive to neighbours. Normal household life continues; what changes is the threshold at which sound becomes intrusive. Music, raised voices, moving furniture, and repeated door closing are the categories most often cited in complaints.
