A third is the belief that caution signals distrust. Hosts sometimes feel accused when a guest asks what is in something. Reframing such questions as ordinary — the kind anyone might ask anywhere — removes most of the friction. None of this implies blame toward hosts who have not thought about it before. Food safety is simply an area where habit tends to lag behind intention.
