Pressure can enter subtly. Repeated invitations after a decline, invitations framed so that refusal appears rude, or invitations that shift in nature after acceptance are all patterns associated with discomfort and, in some cases, harm. Consent given on the basis of incomplete information is fragile, and it can be withdrawn at any point.
