It is also worth separating a change from a renegotiation. A change informs; a renegotiation invites a response. Announcing a new time is not the same as asking whether a new time works. When the first is presented as though it were the second, the other person may feel managed rather than consulted. Clear framing, even in a short message, tends to prevent that impression.
