The most common is over-extension. People who are highly reliable often become the default support for many others, and this can accumulate into a caretaking role that was never chosen. Sustainable friendship requires the capacity to decline requests without treating refusal as betrayal. Autonomy applies to friendship as much as to any other relationship: no one is obliged to be permanently available.
