Questions of who a community is for surface regularly. Some groups form around a shared identity, interest, or life stage, and that focus can be part of what makes them meaningful. Others aim to remain broadly open. Neither approach is inherently better, but ambiguity about the answer is often associated with friction later, particularly when expectations differ between longstanding members and newer arrivals.
