Autonomy matters here. Availability is not agreement. Something being present in a space does not indicate consent to anything, and no one should feel that having accepted hospitality obliges them to accept anything else. Equally, a guest who prefers to rely on their own items is exercising a reasonable preference, not expressing distrust.
