Items differ in urgency. Keys, wallets, identity documents, medication, and phones are usually treated as time-sensitive, because their absence disrupts someone's day immediately. Clothing, chargers, books, and small accessories are generally less pressing and are often handled at whatever pace suits both people. Distinguishing between the two categories tends to reduce friction, since a message about a missing house key reads very differently from a message about a forgotten scarf.
