Autonomy applies in both directions. A guest retains the right to decline, to change their mind, and to leave, regardless of the effort a host has invested. Reciprocally, a host may end a visit at any point. Neither party owes the other continuation. Where this is understood in advance, visits tend to unfold with less pressure.
