Within queer and adult social communities, this pressure is frequently discussed in terms of unequal comfort. One person may be more experienced, more established socially, or more at ease in the setting. The less established person may find it harder to voice hesitation, adjust expectations, or leave early. Community perspectives generally hold that the person with more social ease carries more responsibility for making the conversation open, not less.
