For many people this period is the least defined part of meeting someone. Expectations before a meeting are often discussed openly, and behaviour during a meeting is guided by presence and immediate feedback. Afterwards, both people are alone with their own interpretations, and communication becomes asynchronous. A message that arrives quickly may be read as enthusiasm or as pressure. A message that arrives slowly, or not at all, may be read as disinterest, discretion, or ordinary distraction.
