A frequent misunderstanding is that parking is purely the guest's problem. In practice, hosts hold most of the relevant information. They know which streets are enforced, where residents object, and whether the building has designated spaces. Sharing that information is generally understood as part of preparing a home for guests rather than an optional courtesy.

| Social=Parking carries social meaning that is often unspoken. Offering a driveway space or a visitor permit reads as a gesture of welcome and trust. Declining to offer one, or asking a guest to park several streets away, may be entirely reasonable and privacy-motivated, but it can be misread as coolness if the reason is not given. A brief explanation usually prevents the misreading.
